Yarrow

I hope this hasn’t been discussed previously ad nauseaum, but I’ve been seeing a lot of yarrow around, and picked some the other day, but in some book, it was saying that it wasn’t good to harvest at certain times (possibly right now). But the Michael Moore (who I guess I consider an “expert”) book I have doesn’t give any such warning at all. Anyone know about this?

I haven’t heard anything about that, besides the usual advice of picking flowers at certain parts of the year, and roots at others, etc., do to the nutrients and/or energy of the plant being focused at different places at different times. This is my usual time for harvesting some yarrow, which I did last week and might do some more of this week.

Yarrow flowers are the strongest if you can pick them After the petals open up but before the centers of the flowers open up and turn more yellow. If you can pick it in this phase, it also tastes better.
