I recently purchased some Italian military surplus wool blankets.They arrived and are smelling kind of chemical stinky.Does anyone have similar experience?How do I get that stink out?What the hell is that stink anyhow?
Thats just the way they smell! Hang them outside for a few days. It helps greatly!
I got the same problem with a felted wool coat I bought at an army store. The smell occured when it got wet. I think it might treated with insecticide against mothes.
I dropped that coat because I am very sensitive to smell… and I guess such chemicals might be harmful for your well-being.
I was told it is an anti moth chemie,Wash the wool whatever a couple of times then air out ,outside is better but I let mine air out indoors and it no longer smells
