So there I am in the Pacific NorthWest amongst forests and cascades during autumn and winter…What plants may I find to be edible to survive through such harsh circumstances?
Hmm. Well supposedly spruce sap makes a good chewing gum. At least you can keep yourself occupied with that if you end up starving to death.
Rather I have no idea, but after a good deal of searching earlier, I found the book Wild Edible Plants of Western North America to be the best guide in case I end up leaving the East.
My only plan thus far to survive through autumns and winters is ice fishing or hunting mountain rams. :-\
( Or gathering nuts in the late summer making a primitive form of bread during the winter.)
I am having a hard time of coming up with ideas for winter and autumn survival… ???
