Feral - hearted folks on or around vancouver island – there is a primitive skills gathering on the southern island coming up this late june/ early july, check out the website at www.firemaker.org. It is not a rewilding themed gathering, that is something we’ll have to create; its more geared to ancestral skills and a whole schwack of other stuff. there will be a posse of rewilding folks there and i think it is a great place to connect with such people in this bioregion, as well as learn some wicked skills. We have facilitated workshops there before and will be doing some this year, likely animal processing, hide tanning, working with wild plant fibers, introducing rewilding/ant-civ ideas, all sorts of great stuff.
Here’s a list of some of the workshops that’ll be going down (the ones friends and myself are facilitating) :
- Buckskin tanning, from start to finish
- Animal processing (or - how to make use of the entire animal)
- How to make and use a drop spindle
- Fertility Awareness
- Making and weaving with a primitive loom
- Anti-civ/rewilding mindbomb
There will be loads more - and people to meet-
so if you’re nearby, come!
