is anyone heading to the rivercane rendezvous in georgia next month? or has anyone gone in the past? i think i’d like to go, but it’s a bit expensive and a bit far (carpool??).

Yes, I’m going to Rivercane. You should totoally come. I went to Falling Leaves last fall.
I’m in Wisconsin now and I’m planning to take a train to Virginia where I’ll meet someone who’s driving there.

i’d love to go, but can’t. i am hoping to attend falling leaves though. and yes, expensive is right.
Last year Falling Leaves was my first gathering put on by Earthskills. I was told that the attendance was the smallest they’d seen in some time. There was talk of lowering the price before the next Falling Leaves. I’m not sure what’s to become of all this though. I guess if attendance is low again this spring it will make a difference.
There is partial work trade and full work trade available too. I’ve had trouble getting in contact with people about it though.
I went to both Rivercane and Falling Leaves in 2007, and I will be at Rivercane again this year.
it’s a really fucking good gathering. the classes aren’t the draw for me so much as the community aspect. it functions as a way to bring a lot of people together who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to meet. i am stoked about april.
