Rewilding the land around you

sick of feeling bored/working on computer all day, and when I do go out, not actually doing much but going for a walk, observing, and maybe picking some berries/plants etc. So… maybe I can make something more of my time. Start living and rewilding more, giving the land a little nudge.

This thread is influenced by Urban Scouts resistance vs rewilding (and some comments in the thread, etc), Derrick Jensen, much other people/ideas/etc I have failed to mention… and of course the source I am about to post that I found …

So, anyhow ITT (in this thread) perhaps we can post things such as this.

Concept is simple. Gather the open pollinated seeds of sturdy veg and grains such as amaranth. Nuts like pecans and the fruit trees. Wrap seeds in clay seed balls or leave in shells. When hiking scatter and plant the seeds. Do not worry about yields, just do it. Let nature bring forth the end result, just be the middle man.

Read “The Man Who Planted Trees” for inspiration. Do this every where you go. Nothing can ever be closer to a radical, passive, healthy way of resistance and long term food stable food supply. Some will be lost to encroaching development, natural selection, animals, fire, etc. Not your place to concern yourself with that. Just keep seeding the wild and semi-wild spaces. Find out what kinds of native fruit trees grow in your area, such as pawpaw and persimmon, and sow them. Plant figs and apples and peaches and cherries from seed. Just scatter the seed balls in every space possible. Sow gourds for future utensils and and anything else that comes to mind like medicinal herbs.

It just takes conviction and the desire to get out in nature with your backpack. Nothing could be simpler.

Also I found this book on the internets…
