I have been thinking of birthdays, and how we talk about years. For me birthday is in 6 risings of the sun, and I will be 35 winters old. I am exploring how to create new traditions about birthdays…

Often, I congratulate people with the completion of their somanieth (in your case your 35th) circle around the sun. Many people only realize what a year it when they get reminded of this perspective.
