I eat roadkill pretty often but I am starting to be pretty paranoid about rabies. Besides wearing rubber gloves when processing, what precautions do y’all take? Most of my processing has been done without gloves but that might not be a good idea since i live in a suburban area and i think rabies is more common around civilization… What do you all think about the subject?

i do nothing precationary for rabies. i never wear gloves, never wear a mask, skin and butcher indoors when i can and it is wet outside. i don’t really worry about that shit. usually though, i try to go on roadkill runs in not so densely populated areas.
Rabies is way rarer tham most people think… The gloves are prob good enough, and cook it well to kill any virus or parasite bugs.
