I was out hiking with a friend the other day. We were wandering along a creek bed when we found a circle of stones. Course, rough stones outlining the circle and smooth round stones placed in the center. We pulled out the center stones, curious about what was underneath them. We found tangles of mycelium strands (and a little frog). We grabbed some of the soil and put it in a water bottle. Now we’re wondering how we can keep it alive and spread it around. Will it survive in a flower pot? I don’t know what kind of mushroom it is.
I’m still new to fungi propagation myself, but, from what I’ve seen, taking that dirt and sandwiching it between two pieces of very damp corrugated cardboard and kept in a dark place, should encourage the mycelium to spread throughout the cardboard, then you can that to place the mycelium somewhere to start a patch.
Have you tried jheregs technique? did it work?
