Project in spain

“The increasing desolation of nature, the exhaustion of resources, the uneasiness and disintegration of the human spirit, all have been brought about by humanity’s trying to accomplish something.” - Masanobu Fukuoka
We’re basically attempting to attempt nothing. Which is harder than it sounds, and even more difficult to explain if you dont already understand.
We aim to live as in tune with the natural world as possible - We will grow vegetables (Fukuoka style, of course) hunt with a bow, keep chickens (or hope that they stay) and live in yurts or other simple structures. We might eventually build a simple house out of materials on the land.
We will be building a natural pool, which is a cop-out because its basically a hole with plastic in it, despite the fact it only uses plants to clean it.
Our aim is to become as dependent on the natural world as possible, to be as primitive as possible (without all the wierd sacrifices and naked dancing etc…although there might well be some naked dancing, just not ritualised). We will of course be easing ourselves into this way of life as we’re well aware of how difficult its going to be, there will be no jumping in at the deep end…this is a long project.
Not really sure how we would like the community to develop but we thought it would be interesting to see if anyone was interested in what we’re up to.

I wish you good luck. I think a whole lot of intention and will to “accomplish something” goes into learning sustainable lifeways. And ritual can often play a huge role in making that work. I saw the pictures of your land on the yurt site, looks beautiful.

To prevent confusion: I just quoted the project description from the website. I am not involved in the project, yet. But I am going to visit it in may. So I want to bring attention to it, as other people might be interested in the project, too.

I agree to you. Rituals can be very important.
