Pawpaws in Ontario-WHERE to find?

I know pawpaws are supposed to grow in the Carolinian forest areas (if there are any left) or extreme southern Ontario in Canada. Does someone know of a good location to find them? Hmmm pawpaws mmm good stuff. Also mulberries. Don’t point me to a city location as those trees would be very polluted and sick.
Also when? I would guess sept

Pawpaws ripen between sept & oct, depending on the plant and it’s location.

If you have someplace you could put a sapling in, you may want to consider buying one. I believe they start bearing in 2 to 3 years.

mulberries ripen pretty early–May, if i remember correctly.

both trees tend not to grow as high as other forest trees, so you might have a better chance of finding them on forest edges, and other open places. the only pawpaw i have ever seen grew on a roadside. a lot of people plant mulberries, so look for them to spread around homesteads.

I found Mulberries growing on the trail around Tew’s Falls in Dundas, ON last week. They were ripe and falling off the tree and delicious!
