Long-term effects or how the civ put up a rewild roadblock

Hi, I’ve been lurking around this site (and almost all of the rewilding community) for a while and I thought I’d post this for some ideas and shared experiences.

I’ve been introducing my girlfriend to rewilding theory slowly but surely. You could both consider her and I “anarchists” in a broad sense, but even though she likes camping and a very open minded person, general rewilding is pretty unfamiliar to her.

She visited the doctor a few times over the past two weeks and they have diagnosed her as unable to eat meat and largely unable to consume dairy, a medical vegan. These apparently contribute to a dangerous acid reflux that could potential eat away too much of her esophagus.

Obviously, the dairy does not bother me but the meat does, for obvious reasons.

Now some people might suggest that this detriment is due to civilization itself and, like other “civilized diseases” will decrease over time. But what if it has lasting effects? If civilization cuts off one of your arms, collapse doesn’t sew your arm back on.

I want to know if anyone has any knowledge on the subject outside what the doctor could recommend or if anyone has or knows someone with similar problems.

I am not a doctor and don’t play one on TV…But IMNTBHO reflux is caused by emotional stress. It’s aggravated by chronic low level dehydration, to many weird food additives, over eating, and alcohol consumption. Under eating for a while is another remedy. Only eating animal protien in very small portions and always letting your digestion finish in the stomach before adding more.
