It reminds me of when I was in high school and my three friends and I had this notebook that we all wrote in. It was like a primitive forum. Rather than passing exclusive notes to eachother we passed around the notebook and got to write things for everyone to read.
Except the forum is better because we can all use it at once and even if only a handful of us post everyday, anyone can join. The notebook was very cliquey. At first I was thrilled to be let into this exclusive notebook “club” but eventually two more girls got into the club and the whole thing got unwieldy. There was never enough time to read and write in it anymore and eventually it stopped being passed to me altogether. The two new girls who infringed on my happy arrangement went partying a lot in Jamestown with skanky older guys and my old friends began only to care about drinking (Jamestown is a town just across the border in New York, but a world away with gangs and drugs and AIDs).
Well we had a big falling out about it and I was banned from the notebook forever. Little do they know that I still stole it and read it from time to time. One time I even took hot sauce and rubbed a thin layer of it all over the cover. Ha imagine my glee when the next day I saw one of my replacements tearing up and rubbing her eyes in class!
Well it all turned out alright. I became friends with a group of straightedge boys and we played around like a bunch of kids and blew things up a lot under the bridge and I’ve never gone back to being friends with girls since then because I realized boys are just more fun. No offense women.
