Hawk

Hey everyone,

I found the remains of a dead hawk in my parents’ yard. The head no longer sits anywhere near the body (couldn’t find it when I looked), and the insides seem to have been eaten. Whatever killed it already took what it wanted. I have most of the bones, the feet with talons, and the wing and tail feathers. I’ll probably make some fletchings with the feathers, and include the talons in a talisman, but I don’t have any idea for the bones. Any creative ideas of what to use stuff for?

Nice!

Word of warning, if you’re ever stopped by the police for anything and they say “nice arrows, what are the fletchings?” Say red seagull or something. An acquaintance got a fine for possessing raptor parts in a situation like that.

Yea, I was thinking of something along the lines of, “They’re dyed goose feathers. Look quite real, don’t they?”

Good advice for anyone who finds some feathers, as I do from time to time.
