Hadza

Since this may be in archive limbo somewhere on the prior forum, I’m reposting for those who may not have seen it:

“Immediate return” hunter-gatherer life is nicely described through this look at the Hadza today.

Thanks for the repost John, this is an amazing article.

There are also some video on youtube of at least two film crews spending time with the Hadza. More on a mainstream side of things, but maybe interesting for the visually inclined.

Hey Aurora, can you post the youtube links here? thanks!

Sure. It is
Ray (Bushcraft): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY7y_h4FK14&feature=related (first part of 3)
Ray revisits the Hadza (Bushcraft): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDjwmYX33gc&feature=related (first part of 6)
German language doc on the Hadzabe: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1252553655198660679#
Another less professional video in 12 short parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brKSma6r2xw (most of them are rather boring, but the last one which is a short travel-report is rather interesting.

Thanks Aurora. Just getting around to viewing those. Very good so far!

I also liked some of the other videos of that one BBC series (I think it was BBC?). The river people are nice also. Oh and “Aboriginal britain” was great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xUbCy0jdtQ as it tunes in more on our own ancestors (at least thats true for Europeans like me)
