How does one go about drying leaves, flowers, and things?
Traditionally, you just hang them in a cool, dark place for a few weeks. But you can also put them in an oven for a few hours at a very low heat.
Starfish,
Have you visisted our topic that we’ve already started about this and much more called, The Oldest Way of Preserving or http://www.rewild.info/conversations/index.php?topic=261.0
?
Okay, thanks
We very often dry our herbs and medicines in brown paper bags that we hang from a line with clothes pins in our upstairs. In the bags they don’t collect dust like they do just hanging out in the open.
Anytime.
I tend to use the brown paper bag method a lot. Or pillow cases sometimes for bulkier stuff that can still breathe (like sumac bobs).
