We live in the most destructive culture to ever exist. In Derrick’s talks around the country, he repeatedly asks his audiences, “Does anyone think this culture will voluntarily transform to a sustainable way of living?” No one ever says yes. If we really accept the seriousness of the situation, what would that mean for our strategy and tactics? This is the urgent question we will be exploring over the weekend.

Hey y’all, I’m coming out to this from the midwest! I’m going to fly out to Portland a few days ahead of time and would love to meet some rewilding peeps. Anyone in the area want to get together, go for a hike, show me some bee-yoo-tee-full local ecology, hang out in the forest, do yoga, gather wild food? I’m up for anything, let’s make a story happen. I’m bringing my camping hammock so if you have a couple of trees in your yard that wouldn’t mind, I’d love to hang from them for a night or two. I would also love to spend some time at TrackersNW if there’s anything going on that week that I could participate in or help with!

Also, I need to hook up with a carpool headed to Deep Green Resistance and am happy to share fuel cost if needed.

Still looking for a ride to DGR from Portland and back to Portland on Sunday after it’s over. I’m also seeking a place to crash in Portland from October 20-23rd. I’d really like to go out into some wilderness, maybe camp overnight if anyone is up for it. I’m bringing a mandolin with me, too, so if any of you musical folks want to pick a little, hit me up!
