Beehive Design Collective just came through Portland showing their amazing Mesoamerica Resiste project.
They travel, then come home and tell stories of what they’ve seen and heard with pictures. This one crams a megaton of truth into each square inch about the nightmarish first world corporate colonization/exploitation of South and Central America. Densely packed images. I had the opportunity to see them speaking about their work–it really helps to have someone help “unpack” the stories, they contain a staggering amount of information, expressed in a dreamlike way through the lives of insects.
They still tour! Catch them if you get a chance!
I brought home this sweet poster: pie-throwing tanuki and samurai cicada crash the G8!
