April 5-7, 2008
We will meet Saturday, April 5 at 9:00am at Sams Gap, and will end at Spivey gap sometime early-ish on Monday. We need at least 2 drivers to arrive at 7:30am at Sams Gap in order to shuttle vehicles to the end point; please let Luke know at learningdeer@gmail.com know if you will be able to do this. If you have somewhere to be on Monday you should definitely plan to be there at 7:30am on Saturday to drop off your car at the endpoint.
The hike is under 14 miles, but involves over 3000 ft elevation gain in total. Kids are very welcome. It may be possible to leave the hike early, please call if you want to make special arrangements.
We have noticed that many people tend to overpack.
Please check out the list below, and think twice before bringing anything else:
* Personal Lunch food for 3 days
* Personal Snack food for 3 days
* Either wild or garden grown foods to share for breakfast or dinner with 20 people (call Natalie at 206-661-6550 by April 1 to coordinate meals) or $20 to offset supplemental food costs
