Introductions

Hey, I’m Jordan. 21 and from the Greater Toronto (specifically Toronto as of Aug 1st). I’ve been into the whole anti-civ mindset since Ishmael two and a half years ago, and been sluggin through the theory online since. I went to college, but it was for acting, so I didn’t hate it like regular school. In fact, I loved it, and I look forward to creating theatre and acting in the “real” world. Of course, eventually I hope to bring my love for acting and my desire for rewilding together. Tribe of the Thespian perhaps?

Anywho, I think I’m finally ready to make my first baby-step into actually doing something that invloves me not reading an article online at 2 in the morning. How about Kamana One? Any recommendations?

hey jordan! welcome

Eugh. I hate Hamilton. Steeltown… But cool! Good to know there’s some of us North of the 49.

welcome jordan!

in my experience: theatre skillz = tracking skillz = empathy skillz = animist skillz. smart educational choice!

Hi. Mine’s Richard. I feast and sing and tell stories and try to find something new and good everyday.

The better I feel the less I spend in front of a screen as the machine seems to leech my precious time and customarily results in too many aches of the head and mistakes in the thread, but I do want to make use of my small and sometimes obstreperous voice, so if I spy an opportunity and feel compelled to move my fingers and let the beans spill I’ll do so.

Welcome Richard!

Oi! Somehow I stumbled upon this site and it seems like finding an oasis in the desert! (hopefully not a mirage :stuck_out_tongue: ) Anyhow, names Anthony, I’m a college student in south Puget sound area Washington for Game design, and yet… I would like nothing more to be self sufficient (that is from civ, but ‘community’ supportive) and be able to ‘thrive’ in the wilderness in a ‘primitive’ or say, paleolithic way. Always enjoyed camping, being outdoors, etc.

My animal is the Wolf, I could go on a lot about Wolves and Men (and how wolves are closer to man than primates but… that could take some typing…)
My favourite food is Salmon and Apples, or any meat/fish and fruit.
I also play guitar and love music. Real music.

Anything else that needs to be said?? hmm anyhow hopefully I will learn much and share much here.

Feel free to contact me via any of the methods in my profile

welcome, anthony!

Hallo I,m Chickweed ! I ,ve got a little cottage and a little bit of land …I spend most of my day playing in my foraging garden…growing flowers and food and feeding the wild creatures that visit me .
Big hug Chickweed xxx

Welcome, Chickweed.

I’d love to hear more about your foraging garden. Feel free to start a new topic in the Flora Food/Medicine board and tell us all about it.

Really? :)[/quote]

Thanks for the link  Almost didn’t see it at first… thought you were toying with me at first >> It’s like a summary of the last 5 books I’ve read

“One of the most recognizable signs of domestication is a reduction in brain size—domestication makes a population stupid.”
so true I’ve read this, and even scientifically proven, many places (it’s also backed up later in the post)

Thankyou WildRix, I will come back tomorrow now ,as I have just realised that it is nearly 11.30 pm here … feeling sleepy and I like to get up with the sun …which is around 4.30 am here. I will also do my profile tomorrow.
By the way …wolves are beautiful creatures …it,s a shame" man" has got rid of them all, here in England .

Welcome, Suburban Cowboy, Margi, Jason, Trollsplinter, Jordan, Richard, Anthony, and Chickweed!

Hello everybody. Glad to be here. I’m coming to learn.
Regards

Welcome Mario!

Mario welcome!

Greetings everyone, I found my way over here from the sign at the Anthropik forums. I’ve been a pest at Anthropik for some time now and I still consider myself to be climbing the steep side of the learning curve with all this stuff. I’ve been starting to make some changes in my lifestyle as a result of the things I’m learning and so far this summer I’ve managed to quit smoking and caffeine (both after about 20+ years of daily use), and replace about 2/3 of my diet with local-organic-paleo as I can afford it, which has included nonstandard meats like goat and rabbit, and even elk bologna. I’m currently working on purging my diet of refined sugars… which is actually more of a project than one might think. If I have a highest, most unrealistic primitivism goal it would be to learn how to make and hunt with an atlatl.

I’m native to central PA and live here now, though I spent most of the 90s in Portland, OR and I sometimes get desperately homesick for the place. I make my living doing graphic arts and I hope to write a book because it would be fun and also to justify, and perhaps pay for, my enormously expensive journalism degree. I feel deeply connected to these mountains and have a rather stunning view of the northeastern-most ridge from my apartment.

Great to meet you all!

-Paula

Hi everyone. The names Tom, I’m 24 and live in the South Island of New Zealand.

My current drive is learning about the world, basically about how everything works - how the community of life works, how civilization “works”, how subsistance strategies work, understanding the coming collapse, etc. Asside from my own curiosity/preparedness this is also largely so I can better discuss things with some of my friends and then maybe I’ll be less alone in trying to change my lifestyle.

At some time in the future (hopefully not too long) I hope to start focussing more on learning skills and changing my lifestyle.

JustVisiting, Paula and Mario are all “Anthropik refugees”; they were all really great contributors at the Anthropik forums, but unfortunately, those forums never really worked out the way things have here. So I shut down the forums and directed everyone here. You’ll probably see quite a few more over the next few days, I expect…
