Seattle area weekly/monthly meets?
Hey Seattleites!

What would be a fun thing to do over the next week?
Seward Park. Discovery Park. The Arboretum. Get out of the city!

Really though, what are you looking for?

Ideas!

Personally, I would like to try to set up rabbit snares/traps in the Arboretum or Discovery Park. That’s one of my goals for this summer… to kill a rabbit.

But maybe there is a consensus we can reach on what to do as a group.

i’d love to be in on that. unfortunately (sort of), i won’t be back in seattle for around a week to be able to participate. but heck, if a rabbit gets trapped right before i get back, i’d love to be around for a processing session.

rabbit snaring in the park up on the bluff would make me smile. I’m a little East and a little swamped, but I’d love to hear a story about this happening.

How about Monday? Anyone up for Monday afternoon?

Or is a weekend better? Like Saturday the 16th?

I’ve gotta go do some research!!

I could do saturday the 16th.

I would love to but I plan on heading out of town for the weekend
:frowning:

That sounds fun. I’ve got some snare wire around here somewhere… I could do the 16th.

OK, I’m going to throw out a time and place… how about Discovery Park at 1 pm on Saturday?

Everyone who is interested, please let me know if that’s good or if another plan works better for you.

sounds good to me.

of course this shit has to happen again when I’m around to enjoy it sometime too!

Fly away, little birdie! Go start your own rewilding club on the OP or some other hellhole like that.

  ;D 8)

(I’m just jealous is all…)

You better watch it! I’ll be back before you know it, and I’m gonna get you, and your little club too!

having never been to Discovery Park, you got a good meeting place in mind?

How about at the visitor’s center? 3801 West Government Way. I know that buslines 33 and 24 (and maybe some more as well) will get you close to that address.

And anyone who wants to be extra sure can PM me for my cell number.

And you, TrollSplinter: darest you threaten those who harness the killing power of rabbit snares? Methinks you dare too much.

PM’d ya. I’ll be there.

ben.

No wabbits. But fun was had!

And Rebecca got stung by a bee and screamed like a little girl. (You guys, it was the meanest bee ever. You should have seen its glowing eyes and gnashing teeth. I’m lucky I survived. My catlike instincts took over and I flung it to a distant part of the universe with a frantic shaking of my hand, where its very life withered under the indifferent stare of a cold dying star.)

Seriously, though, I think that by using hardwood saplings and with more knowledge of the rabbits’ habits (ha ha) we would have a chance.
