get this: on a newly refurbished military-spec humvee motor there is a sticker that reads along the lines of: THIS MOTOR IS EXEMPT FROM LINE … OF ARTICLE … OF REGULATION ON DIESEL MOTOR EMISSIONS by the EPA. this means because we are at war, the government allows vehicles that wouldnt pass the EPA standard, to operate. so EACH humvee puts out more toxins than the EPA deems safe. and thats ONE humvee, there are THOUSANDS operating in iraq alone. this kinda stuff bothers me. gr(A)1
My head aches. I have a tension headache from over doing it carrying my bag. I carried with me my broom-stick everywhere I went today (experimenting) so that could have added to injury but I doubt it because I’ve walked many more miles with it than I did to day. I think my bags ended digging into my shoulders, straining them, my neck and back of head, causing me to have this fucked up headache! Probably 5th time I’ve done this to myself. When will I learn!? :-\
p.s. complaining sort of helped relieve the pain.
Airique-how are you carrying your bags? Are you using a tumpline? If not you should try it. But start out with only a little weight until you build up your neck muscles.
[wine wine wine] Once againnah, I don’t liiiiike myyyyy profillllle naaaamah. I’ve decided to change iiiiit toooowah…Neighbor Scout! [Rewilding] :’(
Penny Scout,
Lately this hasn’t occured to me and i know why. Ever since I started some new exersices at my own pace and adopting the tumpline body into almost everything I do, when I carry my backpack nowadays the tumpline body helps me even carry backpacks longer and less strenuously on my shoulders than before when I walked more civish norm (check out cow walk or city shuffle in the wiki). Plus, with all the more walks and carrier exersices I warm up with I feel like I can walk my ass off with out being exhausted or overly overheated. By the way, thanks for the introduction to tumpline; before you mentioned it I never knew anything about, I never knew it develop, I couldn’t even have pointed it out if you asked me if I’d ever heard about it, and in no way did I know some indeginous people used it first!
